Abstract:

The article raises the issue of the lack of effective law enforcement in the field of countering international financial crimes as an urgent problem in this area. The analysis in this article is based on the views and opinions of representatives of legal science and practitioners in the financial sphere, as well as reporting documents of mutual assessments for compliance with international standards for combating money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) of the member States of the task force on the development of financial measures to combat money laundering (FATF). The article focuses on the importance of monitoring the implementation of the provisions of legal acts by an independent international body - the FATF. Based on this conclusion, the article highlights areas for improving the fight against transnational financial crimes to improve interdepartmental cooperation, the practice of international cooperation, and the exchange of operational information.
