Abstract:

The article deals with the issues of security of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in both historical, economic, social and legal aspects. This zone is considered in the aspect of an independent circumpolar civilization. The key points of tension in solving the problems of the Russian Arctic are identified. Based on the data obtained, the trends of further development and improvement of the Northern sea route are considered. The issues of preserving and improving the economic and political security of the NSR were also considered.
